Directions to East Point Park:
The easiest way to get there for most people would be to take the 401 to Morningside Rd., head south to Lawrence Ave. and turn left (you’ll see Morningside Mall on the corner, Lawrence is south of the mall), follow Lawrence and turn right on Manse Rd. (there is a ballpark on the south corner at Manse – not our ballpark though!)… follow Manse to the end past the railway tracks and turn left where it becomes Copperfield Rd. (in front of an industrial complex). The ballpark is just a bit down the road to the right, the park signs and parking lot are easy to spot.
For players that are coming by GO transit the Guildwood GO station is minutes away from the ballpark.
We’d also like to thank the following for their donations and support:

Charity Softball Tournament 2010
The 2010 Charity Tournament held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Ken Morrish Complex at East Point Park in Toronto, Ontario.
15 teams from the financial district in Toronto played in the tournament and the players collected pledges to participate. We’re happy to report that we raised over $15,000 in pledges. We were also able to cover all of our tournament costs through sponsorships and donations. We used the proceeds from the tournament to sponsor 2 seizure-response dogs through the Lions Dog Guides (we supplemented the amount raised with some existing funds to sponsor 2 dogs as sponsorship is $10,000 per dog).
It was a great day, with absolutely perfect weather, the games, food, kids activities and scheduling all went off without a hitch, the first aid tent was inactive 99.99% of the day, the piñata and face painting were huge hits with the kids, and of course, lots of great softball. Congratulations to tournament champions – The Rangers - who defeated RBC in a hard fought finale!
Thanks both to the players for making them so welcome and to Kayla and Duke from the Lion’s Dog Guides for coming out to talk about the seizure-response dog guides program and give demonstrations. It was so great to be able to show people where their pledges go and reminds us what our hard work is for!!!
Thanks to the league – Mark Kettunen, Trish Bunnett, Andrew Williams, Meredith Flynn and Grace Ayshun – for organizing the teams and running everything so smoothly the day of and thank you to our volunteers:
• Derrick Wong, Gord Belfry, and Krystal Kynoch who all served on the foundation’s organizing committee along with the foundation members Valerie Cunningham and Tannis Kynoch.
